I’ve been an avid fan of Longmire ever since it premiered on A&E a few years back. If you’ve watched the show, you can imagine why it’s legion of fans were completely shocked when A&E canceled it. From what I understand, the show had great ratings and audience numbers, it just wasn’t the sweet spot that advertisers were looking for.
Enter Netflix, who rescued the show and just recently released a 10 episode season 4. My wife and I just completed watching the season and I have to say it doesn’t disappoint and might be the best season yet.
Longmire is based on the book series by Craig Johnson and follows a sheriff Walt Longmire as he solves crimes that often intertwine with the local Indian reservations. What makes the series special is the main character, who is basically a cowboy Sherlock Holmes. The writing is amazing and reminds me a lot of the late Elmore Leonard, who wrote the Justified series of books that led to the extremely popular TV series on FX.
Season 4 does not disappoint as NetFlix did a great job of tying up loose ends, while offering an amazing set of 10 shows I couldn’t watch fast enough! Check out the promo below and if you have NetFlix, give Walt and crew a change, it won’t disappoint!
